the echora story
echora was born out of a desire to bring natural, beautiful and enduring designs to the Northern New South Wales region. Started by Donna with a love for linen clothing, natural body care products and well designed homewares, echora's "simply natural" approach seeks to source and offer items for our customers that restore our love of the clothes we wear and the things we use each day around the home.
Our local area is blessed with incredible mountains, rivers and beaches as well as inspiring places to take in food, art and entertainment. We have created echora to be a store with clothes, accessories, homewares and body care products that compliment our lifestyle. Natural, sustainable and of substance.
At echora you will not only see great designs and products from passionate creators, you will find events, our website journal with inspiration for you to ponder and a serene place to hang out at 7 Prospero Street. Our store in Murwillumbah South's "P Street" has been completely renovated from a 110 year old building complete with original brick and concrete walls, recycled hardwoods and natural materials. We hope you enjoy your time there.
surrounded by mountains
echora comes from a fictional word meaning 'encircled by mountains' so it is fitting that our store is surrounded by the ancient Wollumbin/Mt Warning caldera. The volcano used to stand twice as tall and spread lava over an area almost 50 kilometres across. The Northern Rivers is a special place.
You will find echora's flagship store at 7 Prospero Street, South Murwillumbah, affectionately known as "P Street." You can see, feel and smell our products there including clothing, activewear, hats, bags and other accessories, body care products and beautiful homewares such as towels, sheets and ceramics from our regional artisans.
Our store is designed to be a sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the Murwillumbah CBD. There's places to sit and relax, rehydrate, read a magazine or be calmed by the aromas of the essential oils.
We have welcoming change rooms, special order services, occasional events, gift wrapping and gift cards and delivery services.
Prospero Street is a 2 minute walk over the bridge where you will also find other stores for homewares, hair and horses!
We have designed the store to inspire and invigorate your senses, including intuition - knowing that the simple (and natural) things in life are often the best.
Natural fibres like linen and wool, materials from the earth, like clay and timber and colours from nature surround you around the store to make your experience one that builds the soul.
